2026 Community Action Grant

Applications that meet the Community Action Grant criteria will be assessed at Tasmanian Community Fund Board meetings held in: February, April, June 2026.

Cut-off dates for assessment at the next Board Meeting:

  • 15 January 2026→ Assessment at February Board Meeting
  • 15 March 2026→ Assessment at April Board Meeting
  • 15 May 2026 → Assessment at June Board Meeting

In the current round TCF is accepting applications that align with one of two streams:

Stream 1: Connected and Educated Children and Young People

  • Innovative solutions to support ongoing engagement with learning for 8–19-year-olds.
  • Supporting smooth transitions between learning stages (primary → secondary, secondary → college, college → TAFE, university, or work).
  • Increasing digital literacy and access, and enabling families to support young people.
  • Collaborative community solutions that boost literacy, numeracy, and financial literacy.
  • Initiatives that increase wellbeing, happiness, and resilience.
  • Ensuring every 8–19-year-old has access to at least one nutritious meal per day—at school, home, or in the community.
  • Increasing employment pathways for 16–19-year-olds.
  • Building the capacity of employers to engage and support young people in employment.

Stream 2: Capable and Well-Led Communities

  • Advocating for the needs of children and young people (8–19 years).
  • Increasing leadership capacity and capability of children, young people, and communities.
  • Supporting strategic and long-term thinking of communities and community organisations.
  • Strengthening overall community capacity.
  • Increasing local community leadership capability.

The TCF Board is currently review its funding strategy and these streams may change after 1 July 2026. If you are intending to apply for funding in either of the above streams you are advised to do so be 15 May 2026 which is expected to be the last round under the current streams.

Please read the 2026 Community Action Grant Guidelines (pdf) for information on eligibility, tips on how to complete the application. TCF Staff are also available to discuss your application, and you are encouraged to contact us to discuss your application before applying.

📤 Submitting Your Application

When ready:

  1. Click Review and Submit to check for any missing info

  2. Then click Submit

Once submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email with a copy of your application.
